I never need much of an excuse to visit Sanary-sur-Mer, one of the most colourful and unspoiled resorts on the coast; and like so many other towns, it is working to extend the summer season, holding events and festivals to attract visitors. Sanary has been building its reputation as a centre for photography and this week sees the final days of the 4th ‘Art Suspendu’ festival.
The town is transformed into an open-air gallery with 54 artists contributing 150x200cm photos hanging in the streets. We are all invited to vote for our favourite.
This ends on Sunday 1st October, and there is a brief pause before the next town-wide exhibition, ‘L’Ete Indien’ which celebrates the portrait. Over 300 photographers will be showing 1000 portraits which will be stimulating for all who love the art of photography.

I was there this spring for a big rosé wine festival. Fun!
It’s such a beautiful spot, unspoiled too.
