How lucky we are in Aix to have such excellent cinemas. Here’s just some of the latest news:
Opera subscription for ‘METROPOLITAN OPERA SAISON 2018-2019′ opens this Thursday, 15th March, 10:30, if you want to subscribe for all ten performances. This will cost 250€, either via the website or at the box-offices of the Cézanne or Renoir. Similar arrangements for subscription to 5 operas, 140€ , take place on Thursday 29th March.
Next weekend sees the 19th edition of the ‘Printemps du Cinema’ festival during which seats are just 4 euros!
It’s a great opportunity to see some of the Oscar-winning or Oscar-nominated films such as Three Billboards, Call Me By Your Name, The Shape of Water, Phantom Threads, Lady Bird ( a film I wish I had seen as an ado) and I Tonya, in its last week.
Black Panther is still at the Cézanne in VO and VF. La fille Aixcentric just went to see it at the weekly mum-and-baby-session at her local UK cinema and thought it was amazing. Baby’s views not recorded, but what a great initiative for young mums.
While on the subject of young audiences, I can’t wait to take le petit fils Aixcentric along to see ‘Pierre Lapin’ which looks to be a complete hoot – clip here(http://www.lescinemasaixois.com/evenement/pierre-lapin). What would Beatrix Potter have made of a break-dancing rabbit I wonder? Premiere on 1st April, 11:00, at the Cezanne.
There is also the ‘Ciné des Jeunes’ programme with ‘Wallace and Gromit’ showing on 28th March and the film so many people are recommending, ‘Coco’ on April 18th.
So much choice!
