Aix’s Ballet Preljocaj had excellent reviews at this summer’s Edinburgh Festival – and I have just found details of their free performances in town this afternoon.  They will be dancing excerpts of their new ballets in Les Allées Provençales as follows:

…14:00 at the Place des Jets d’Eau

…15:00 at Place François Villon

…16:00 in front of Maisons du Monde

…17:00 in front of Fnac: this one will be an Atelier Chorégraphique for adults!

It’s also the last day of free concerts in the Musique dans la Rue series – the first is at 17:00 in the Place St Jean de Malte.

Tomorrow, 9th, is Assogora 2012: you can visit stalls publicising a huge number of associations in the area and get involved in theatre, dance, art, bands, all sorts of sports, or volunteer your time for environmental, social or humanitarian causes. There will be 420 activities to choose from.  NB – not in the Cours Mirabeau this year – it’s in the Parc Jourdan from 10-18:30.

Have a good weekend!

Tomorrow evening – June 7th at 18:00hrs, there will be a chance to sit in on a rehearsal of Blanche Neige, by the ballet Preljocaj.  It’s free and a good opportunity to sample some contemporary dance as well as seeing this interesting building.

Each month there is a free guided tour but it is in fairly fast French.
