‘En avril, ne te découvre pas d’un fil’ goes the old French saying, but let’s hope for sunshine this weekend for the 27th Fete de la Chevre in the village of Rognes. It’s one of my favourite events as it is a simple, family, village-based event which celebrates local produce.
There are lots of long tables so you can picnic on what you buy from the stalls, or visit one of the 4 restaurants listed on the poster above to sample their ‘menu chevre’. Usually a good craft tent for the little ones. The central parking place gets full very quickly but you can park on the approach to the village if you are OK with a short walk.
After that, why not visit the Aix Carnaval, details here: https://aixcentric.com/2023/03/23/aix-carnaval-back-after-3-years/
If it rains, remember it’s the first Sunday of the month so there’s free entry to municipal museums plus there’s an interesting VO film at the Mazarin, ‘The Lost King‘ which tells the story behind the recent discovery of the body of Richard III under a car-park. And some inside information….there seems to be another lost monarch buried in Reading: https://www.getreading.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/king-henry-is-body-ever-20170702
Enjoy the weekend!
