A quick note on the Ronde d’Aix, an event that will delight cycling fans but could frustrate anyone planning to drive in centre-ville tomorrow, 31st July.
I’ve been aware of the date for some time but struggled to find any details. Finally some are trickling out. It’s an exhibition of the sport rather than a race, and gives people a chance to see some well-known cyclists in action. Tomorrow there will be various guys who have just completed Le Tour, including French star Charles Laporte. This event pre-pandemic attracted about 5,000 spectators.
I have seen in one place that the event starts at 18:00 but can’t double-check.
