A walk along the promenade at Les Lecques, around the little port and out to sea along the jetty has always been a family favourite, but I’ve always struggled to find a vegetarian lunch after our walk. It’s a typical French seaside resort with all the menu choices the locals obviously enjoy. Paninis/pizza slices have long been the only alternative.
So I was delighted to come across the Olala Café on a recent visit.
It’s got a health-based menu for breakfasts and brunch – think granola, salads, bowls, pancakes, and of course avocado toast. At last! Fruit cocktails, smoothies, matcha latte and specialist beers are available too. It does open 2 evenings a week when the more substantial dishes are mainly vegan or vegetarian.
There’s a terrace on the promenade, or you can sit inside where the vibe is driftwood, pretty cushions and colourful hanging lamps. Friendly service.
It felt like a little piece of Brighton had landed, but then that wouldn’t have had this view…
Olala indeed.
The café is at 15 Avenue du Port (very close to the tourist information office).
Open daily 10-15:00. Plus 18-22:00 Fri and Sat.
