It’s sad to see well-loved local businesses succumb to various pressures and cease trading. Thanks to Susan Gish for flagging these three up to Aixcentric.
Occadeco is an Aladdin’s cave of vintage furniture, pictures, records. Near the Rotonde, in the ave des Belges, it’s approached down a long concrete ramp which leads to a large semi-underground showroom. Susan reports that it is quite empty now – the business is transfering to Les Milles.
Jacquemes is an epicerie fin which stocks specialist drinks and wine, fresh produce and tableware. It’s at 9 rue Mejanes and has been in business since 1913. Closes 30th November.
And the owner of the popular pizza restaurant La Grange, off the cours Mirabeau, who is 94, is closing too. What a shame as it has great ambiance and good pizzas.
Luckily two out of three are due to retirements, as far as I know, so not sad for the owners, just for the customers 🙂 Happy retirement to them!
