It’s hard to believe but it’s ten years since Aixcentric began: there have been over 2000 posts on subjects as varied as boat trips, films, new shops, books, restaurants, archictectural innovations, the lack of toilets in town and other pressing matters. And such is the enduring popularity of Provence, and Aix in particular, that the blog has followers worldwide.
But we have sold our Aix flat.
‘What I should do with Aixcentric?’ has been the question that has been on my mind during the summer break. Dropping into new little cafés is no longer possible and expos will come and go without me attending. I’ve always wanted posts to be authentic, based on actual experience and honest appraisal. That’s been the whole point!
Luckily, I have family in Provence whom I hope to be visiting as regularly as the Fates allow, and so I plan to continue but with fewer posts than we’ve all been used to.
There’ll be one tomorrow on a fun activity to enjoy while the weather holds, and I’ll be posting occasionally on Aix-based topics in the months to come….
A bientot!
Thank you for all your wonderful posts.
And thank you for your good wishes!
It may have seemed at times that you were engaged in a thankless task, but far from it. Thanks a million!
Oh I enjoy it! Thanks so much for your message Mike.
They say all good things come to an end and Aixcentric was certainly a good thing. Coinciding with our arrival in this beautiful city we enjoyed and benefitted from your fresh and informative opinions on what was happening around us.
Lockdown having weaned us off regular emails, we look forward to the prospect of reading your posts, however irregular. Thank you Lynne
Lovely feedback. Thanks so much. We hope to see you both on our next trip south! X L
As others have said….we will miss your posts so much! We purchased our house in the Luberon just over 10 years ago. We haven’t been able to access it now for over a year, and the only thing sustaining us in our exile here in Canada was postings from people like you. Please keep posting as much as you can. Thanks so much!
I hope to keep going…just less frequently. Thanks so much for all your kind comments!
What will we all do without you. You are such a gift to this community and a wonderful friend to know. I look forward to seeing you when can get here and if I can help in any way, please let me know. xxxx

It was such a treat to spend time with you both. Thanks so much for your kind comments. Xx to both
I ve loved all your posts. Hopefully you will still be able to visit Provence regularly.
I certainly miss it.
Hope to see you in the UK or Provence down the tracks!
Indeed, Cliveden calls!
À bientôt x Lynne
Your posts have been so appreciated and such a great way for us to stay connected to a place we love but can only visit for a short time each year. We wish you the best in your new adventures and will enjoy your posts whenever you get a chance. Thank you!
Thanks so much for the kind comments!
My wife and I spent 3 weeks in Aix on an AHI Tour called Living in France in 2016. Ever since that time I have been following local news and events by reading Aixcentric posts. The posts kept me connected to Aix year after year. Thanks Lynne! All the best to you in your future endeavors. Aixcentric will be missed.
Hi, thanks for the good wishes. I hope to keep the blog going, just less frequently as I will spend more time in the U.K. best wishes, Lynne
I can’t believe it’s 10 years ! I will miss your posts ! Good luck and all the best for your move 🤗
I can’t believe it’s 10 years either! Hope all is well with you and the family.
We shall miss you! I used to inform my French friends about your posts!
Looking forward to reading/seeing you
And I look forward to you too! X L
Thank you for all the interesting posts you have given us over the years, great information having come our way, band glad to read you will continue…even if we will see less posts.
Provence with the gem Aix in its midst, does not easily go away…one of the very reasons we live only a short drive north of this beautiful cultural city.
Good for you that you have sold your place…and we wish you all the best…et à bientôt…😉
PS! Is it still possible to get a copy of your ‘book’…as my husband has lost his copy…and I would love to get him another…?
Thanks Lis for the kind comments . Either book can be sourced on http://Www.lulu.com. Amd the Aix history book is available at Book in Bar, in colour now!
Hello,
I would like to thank you deeply and warmly for all the work involved in sharing information with us.
I hope you will manage in continuing even being away.
Good luck for your new life.
Kind regards
Nicole
Thanks so much
Thank you, Lynne, for all the events we’d have otherwise missed, and for all the time and effort invested to benefit so many of us.
We wish you and Bob all the best in your new endeavor. And, we’ll savor the occasional Aixcentric post and think of you, Mary Lou
Thank you Mary Lou. As things have worked out and we aren’t in Aix much, I just felt the authenticity would suffer. But I can post various items from time to time and we do have family there we will be visiting which will keep me in touch. Best to you and Bob!
Oh, Lynne, we will miss your regular updates. There is no one that seems to have their finger on the pulse as you do. Frequent or not, we look forward to the Aixcentric news about Aix.
Thank you for the kind comments Carolyne!
All the best with the changes you are making and thank you for the great service this blog has been and is. Good to know you’ll continue to make an appearance and share things, but also understandable that your gaze may shift in other directions. Enjoy the new adventure.
Thanks for such positive feedback. I have family in the Var so should be visiting fairly frequently, depending on the pandemic situation. That will give me opportunity to do some relevant and authentic posts….which has always been the point of Aixcentric.
Have a happy Christmas,
Best wishes, Lynne
