The inspection that took place yesterday, at the site of the threatened buildings (see previous post), resulted in better news for most of those involved. Fearing a domino effect, all the surrounding buildings had been evacuated but were in fact declared safe for residents to move back home last night.
That just leaves the site of the cave ceiling collapse – numbers 23-25 – needing remedial work under a ‘arret de peril’. The occupants who have been housed in an apart’hotel were escorted in to their homes last evening to retrieve belongings before the estimated 3-4 weeks’ work begins.
So a happy ending for most residents and a positive note for the last blog of this very strange year.
Thanks to you for a very interesting website. Hopefully 2021 will soon enable you to give us news of a more positive nature – Happy New Year to you and yours.
So glad you enjoy it. 😊
Happy 2021 to you too…..it has to be better.
