Something to really look forward to at the Musée Granet this summer – guess whose work will be hitting town with a big splash!
Yes it’s the brilliant David Hockney.
The curators at the Granet have been working with the Tate in London to pull together a show which promises two themes. Firstly it will be a chronological view of his career, showing his use of different techniques and technologies – his recent work on the iPad, for instance, is fascinating; and secondly it will reflect the artist’s love of the south of France and reference the influence and inspiration Picasso, Van Gogh and Cézanne have had on his work.
David Hockney now lives in Normandy where he has been painting the changes in nature around his farmhouse throughout lockdown. They look beautiful in both their colour and composition – I wonder if any will be included?
I have seen several exhibitions of his work and always found them thrilling. We are in for a treat….fingers crossed!!

I love his work and hope to be able to see it next summer! Merry & Healthy Christmas to you and your family.
