Over the last year, I’ve dropped in to classes in centre ville, run by Karina Vitiello. She’s an enthusiastic teacher who also has fluent
English which helps for explanations. So I was dismayed to see what happened to her flat.
She writes: ‘Almost 2 weeks ago my apartment entirely burnt down and I’ve lost 99% of my possessions. As you can imagine the reconstruction will be long and slow. On the positive side, I haven’t been hurt and I’m in good spirits. The property itself will be rebuilt (it’s covered by the insurance), but the cover for all the rest (furniture and all my possessions) was minimal and will only cover a very small part of what I had’. So she needs work and has already gone back to giving online lessons on a new computer.
