As if the police haven’t got enough to do right now, they are on the track of the perpetrators of an act of vandalism at the bottom end of the cours Mirabeau where the arms have been hacked off an angel on one of Francois Trupheme’s statues.
The 19th century allegorical figure – one of a pair – represents decorative arts and industry; the angel was holding a hammer.
La Provence reports that there were no witnesses to the attack and are examining CCTV images to help identify the malfaiteurs.

I hope the good people of Aix en Provence are not following in the footsteps of Trump followers in the U.S. showing disdain for cultural arts.
During these difficult times, it would seem to be counterproductive to post disparaging comments about any group of people. Practice kindness and tolerance.
My post was in support of the French people. Not a criticism. We hate Trump here and are doing everything we can to get him out of office to protect all people around the world.
You must be a very ignorant person to post such a comment. Please refrain from letting your TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) to be so openly exposed to the wonderful Aix community. I trust that the Aix authorities will resolve this vandalism.
You misunderstood my post. Trump is an idiot and the most dangerous leader in the world.
