The gleaming new Nimes-Pont-du-Gard station opened in January as a busy interchange on the TGV network.
Travellers can reach Paris Gare de Lyon in 2:49hr; alternatively they can take services to Lyon and Lille in France, or travel south via Montpellier Sud de France to destinations in Spain through the Renfe network.
Nimes itself is 14km/8 mins away by TER.
