A leading street artist is exhibiting in a gallery in Aix centre ville.
There’s Marseille’s first ever Oursinade
Museums are free in both towns on Sunday
……and Aix’s fun fair continues

Jimmy C sprayed this incredible portrait of Lewis Hamilton at the Silverstone circuit
A simple aerosol is the main tool for talented Australian street artist Jimmy C who works in London. His pictures have just gone on show at Aix’s Maison Dauphine which is at 14 rue du 4 Septembre, tucked away in the Mazarin quartier. BTW, gallery owner Veronique also has stylish rooms for discriminating guests!

If you missed the traditional oursinades down on the Cote Bleue, you can tuck into these salty sea-urchins in the middle of Marseille on Sunday. The event, advertised for Saturday, has been postponed until 1st March, but the venue remains the Espace Villeneuve Bargemon (the big space to the right of the Hotel de Ville as you face it). There will be 20 stalls offering oursins but other choices of seafood as well as local wines will be available. 11-17hrs.
In fact Sunday may be a better day as all the public museums are open with free entry so you could combine this with a trip round MuCEM or take the kids to the Musee d’histoire naturelle.
Free municipal museums in Aix too on Sunday – and why not visit Christophe at his stall of tasty local produce in the Place Richelme as Susan recommended this week: https://aixcentric.com/2020/02/23/aix-market-talk-with-christophe-from-nos-saveurs-provencales/
The fair, Foire aux Maneges, continues to thrill local kids. I can hear the shrieking from my kitchen balcony. Still, it doesn’t go on late exc for Saturday and I understand that they have to stop during funerals taking place at the cemetery opposite. Respect. Daily 14-20hrs, Saturday 14-midnight.
And finally, I read in La Provence that the people who lived in the houses in cours Sextius and were subject to emergency evacuation over a year ago have been allowed back into their homes, travaux – and hopefully the nightmare – over.
Bon Weekend!
