Some well-known acts are in the line-up this year for the Festival de Nimes which takes place in the Roman arena, 2000 years old, what a venue!
Newcastle’s finest Sting will be on stage 18th June, followed by Deep Purple on 1st July. Taylor Swift’s show on 5th July is sold out, but there are the Black-eyed Peas on 17th July and Lenny Kravitz on 20th July.

If you are making the trip across from Aix, do take a bit of time to visit the terrific new museum of all things Roman which I posted last year. It’s right opposite the Arena and is fascinating. Plus, nice little café, more formal restaurant, great views of Nimes from the roof-top terraces.

Saw Sting in Nîmes last year. He was excellent though not in the arena. I would highly recommend.
