Good news that the Musée Granet have a series of tours in English programmed. On Friday, 6th December, the tour will walk visitors through Fabienne Verdier’s work from her apprenticeship with Chinese calligraphers to her most recent works made Aix in front of Mont Sainte-Victoire. Worth visiting to see her massive splashy canvases produced with metre-wide brushes. Plus I think she’s the first woman to have a show here?
Cost: Entry + 4€
Time: 15:00.
And the next expo takes us to ancient Egypt with ‘Pharaon, Osiris et la Momie’ which draws on Aix’s collection of artefacts from 17th and 19th century. I didn’t know we had one! I read that this is a small number of rare and precious items which will be augmented by loans from the Louvre. Granet exhibitions always have a link to Cézanne – it will be interesting to see what this will be…
Starts: 17th April
