Local museums with interesting locations can really benefit from their space, now that the warm weather is here and the days are long.
The Musee Regards de Provence of course is in a fantastic location, down opposite the docks in Marseille. Its café-terrace with panoramic views is being used for daytime patisserie-sculpture courses and fitness sessions; and music-and-drinks evenings as the sun goes down. They are also offering some imaginative art classes for children 7+, using the theme from the current exhibitions – gastronomy – as a starting point for painting and collage. Saturdays and Sundays, 15-30 June.
Meanwhile, the Hotel Caumont in Aix has a pretty cool offer for children’s parties:
- ‘Visite ludique’ to the current expo (see last post)
- Half-hour creative workshop based on what they have seen
- Tea in the Café Caumont
- A treasure-hunt in the gallery’s historical gardens.
Now that’s what I call a party!
