It’s a busy day in prospect with:
Formula One cars and films in Aix
Cheese and Honey in Fuveau
and a Bal Patriotique in Marseille.
Let’s start in Aix with the free Formula One roadshow.
These events are precursors to the French Grand Prix at the end of June. They were initiated last year and proved to be a big success in each of the towns and villages visited; so it’s good that Aix is on the list this year for local aficionados. There are all sorts of activities and simulators, but the big draw will be the mini-circuit and cars driven by members of the Renault F1 team.
I hear that Daniel Ricciardo, Niko Hülkenberg and Sergei Sirotkin will be driving, and Alain Prost will be at the event. Vroom vroom!
If all that sounds somewhat noisy, you can take to the cinema for a special event: on Wednesday, all three versions of ‘A Star is Born’ (1954, 1976 and 2018) will be showing at the Renoir.
Outside town, the annual Foire Chevre et Miel is taking place in the village of Fuveau.
Here’s the programme for the day: fuveau fete
Meanwhile, down in Marseille, the Liberation is being celebrated by a ‘Bal Patriotique’ by the Vieux Port. Dancing starts at
14:00hrs at the Ombriere.
There will be helpers in forties dress, old military vehicles and a commemorative photo exhibition.
This coming Wednesday certainly sounds like it will have something to delight everyone!
