- New face on ‘le mur de Zidane’ on the Corniche!
- Japanese Event
- New Tram-line plus…..
- Improvements for June’s Formula One GP.
A massive Adidas ad featuring Zinedine Zidane used to grace the Corniche Kennedy to the delight of photographers and tourists. Now a new face has gone up – Soprano! He’s the Marseille-born pop sensation, now a judge on The Voice, and the first rapper to get a show at the Velodrome. In fact his October concert has proved so popular that a second evening has been announced, making him the first artist to have successive evenings at the Velodrome. Look out for it when you next drive down to the beaches.

If you are interested in Japan and its culture, head over to Parc Chanot for the big show Japan Expo Sud:
Japan Expo Sud is also place to learn about Japanese culture and try new activities! Many workshops and initiation classes are organized to unveil to you the secrets of martial arts, figurine modeling, cosplay making, or many traditional activities such as ikebana, tea ceremony, calligraphy, and more.
Japan Expo Sud is also a huge playground! A place where all types of games await the attendees: games on stage (quizzes, blindtests, karaoke…), on the booths (among which the famous and traditional go and shôgi) and everywhere in the festival!
Dates: February 22-24th.
Public transport news, there’s to be a new tram line, T3, linking La Castellane to La Rouviere, and totalling 580 million euros – read on: https://madeinmarseille.net/17195-tramway-nord-sud-rtm/
and good for F1 fans, improvements for spectators at the Paul Ricard circuit. I described in a previous post how my family had to spend the entire weekend there in the car! (https://aixcentric.com/2018/11/23/french-grand-prix-dates-for-2019/)….so hopefully all these measures, totalling 1 million euros, will make the whole experience less hassle. https://madeinmarseille.net/44815-un-million-embouteillages-circuit-castellet/
