As is usual on the first Sunday of September, Aix’s historical delicacy, the calisson will be celebrated in centre ville. This is the programme:
10:15 Mass at the Cathedral
11:30 Procession down to the Cours Mirabeau
14:00 Traditional singing and dancing
15:00 Procession via rue Cardinale to the church St Jean de Malte
15:10 Blessing (Benediction), followed by tasting in the Cours Mirabeau.
If you’re in town, this is a lovely opportunity to take part in this very Provencal event; terrific too for photographers.
