As the all the holidaymakers head back north from Provence and the locals settle back into their routines with the little ones going back to school on Monday, it’s time to dust down Aixcentric and get blogging again.
It seems like I’ve missed lots this summer – in particular Madonna rocking up at Chateau La Coste. According to The Times, she visited at the end of July together with Bono and his wife Ali Hewson, Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher, actors Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, comedian Chris Rock and Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich. Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary took a selfie for his Instagram account and says they will be back next summer.
And what warm weather they had. It’s been the second hottest summer in France since records began. Only 2003 was hotter. The peak for the heatwave was 24th July – 8th August. The average temperature was 23.1C, 3.2C above normal.
But it’s cooling down now, perfect weather in fact to get out and about to enjoy everything happening this month. I always try to supply accurate info but do double-check if you are making a trip to visit things I mention, just in case opening times etc have changed.
So here goes, quite a few posts coming up…..
Let’s enjoy la rentrée 2018!
