Time for the annual Aixcentric break. This time of year, life takes care of itself in Provence with so much to do – cinema under the stars, jazz in vineyards, art in the streets, those beaches, that sun.
If you are short of inspiration for an outing, can I recommend my new book ‘Art in the South of France’ for ideas. It’s available here: http://www.lulu.com/shop/lynne-alderson/art-in-the-south-of-france-the-inside-story/paperback/product-23586102.html or, if you are in Aix, Book In Bar has just been restocked.
Meanwhile I’d like to follow the lead of artist Manguin’s wife Jeanne and find a shady spot for lots of zzzzzzz……
Have a lovely summer!
Henri Manguin, 1905, La Sieste (Le repos, Jeanne, Le Rocking-Chair), oil on canvas, 88.9 x 116.84 cm, Villa Flora, Winterthur, Switzerland
Enjoy your summer break! Meanwhile we’re enjoying your book – and looking forward to exploring some of your marvelous suggestions when we return to Aix!
Thank you. So glad you are enjoying the book. It was great fun to write – very difficult to know where to stop! I hope you both have a super return to Aix – the town is in some upheaval but still v beautiful!….Lynne
