Actor Daniel Craig spent the New Year holiday in Provence, arriving at Avignon in his private plane. All at first went well: he visited Isle sur la Sorgue for some antiques-browsing and then went with his family and friends to Arles in search of lunch.
But, according to La Provence, James Bond was firmly put in his place by his chosen restaurant – ‘Desolé, monsieur, on ne sert plus’. That’ll teach him to expect a meal after 14:00hrs!
Fortunately a nearby restaurant welcomed the party, even at 15:00, and as La Provence commented: ‘Ouf. L’honneur arlesien est sauf’.
The restaurant in question was Café Georges, in Bd Georges Clemenceau, who clearly know a PR opportunity when it drops in their lap. Can’t wait to try it out.
