before, it’s warmly recommended. The santoniers of Aix construct a typical Provencal landscape of fishermen, lavender-gatherers, villagers, shepherds around tiny buildings, olive trees, market stalls and churches. There’s even a model of Aix’s Fontaine des 4 Dauphins and, behind it all, the Sainte-Victoire. See if you can spot Cézanne!
This coming Sunday, Aix’s ancient cathedral is the venue for the annual International Carol Concert which always packs the pews. Music begins at 15:30 with the choir leading the congregation from 16:00hrs. It’s such a favourite for families. Early arrival is recommended if you want a seat.
