Tomorrow, 10th September, is the annual Assogora, the fair when over 400 associations set up stall to publicise their activities. You will find opportunities to take part in sports, dance, charitable groups, language classes, music, painting, activities to suit all ages and all interests. 10-18:00 hrs. As usual, it is taking place in the Cours Mirabeau, but new security concerns have meant that it is to take place within the protected area which the Mairie describes as ‘fanzoné’. An interesting new meaning for this word which (I believe) was coined to describe overspill areas for fans to watch sports events where the main stadium was full. Anyway hopefully the sun will be back and it will be a happy successful event with lots of locals finding new outlets and friends.
