…tomorrow! One of France’s largest contemporary art fairs, Sm’art takes place each year in Aix’s Parc Jourdan. This year, the little white pavilions will be filled with the work of 200 artists, 20 designers and items from 15 gallery-owners.
Two special exhibitors this year are Jacques Salles from Isle Sur la Sorgue. He is a ‘structeur‘, making installations from aluminium, fabrics, nylon threads and collage. The second is DIRE, not literally but a street artist of that name

Street art from Marseille’s Cours Julien by Dire
who especially likes to paint ‘La Femme’. The programme says, “Elle est une énigme obsessionnelle et envoûtante sur laquelle Dire médite“. Some things don’t translate into English.
The Sm’art website has an online booking facility which might be a Sm’art thing to do as they are expecting 24,000 visitors and the little ticket kiosk at the park gate often has long queues. Until 15th May.
