Well, voting will be the number one priority I’m sure, but once done, why not have a look around the museums in town which are free, as it’s the first Sunday of the month.
The Pavillon Vendome from time to time gives an artist carte blanche to install their work in the historical rooms of the building. At the moment, Clémentine Carsberg is exhibiting her adaptations using wall-paper. I tried to like it but was left rather bemused. Anyway you don’t have to pay 3,50 on Sunday so take the opportunity and see what you think! Details: http://www.aixenprovence.fr/Pavillon-de-Vendome-465
The Musee Granet too is free all day and from 14:00hrs music students will be playing their tributes to various works of art. http://www.museegranet-aixenprovence.fr/evenements/prochainement/un-autre-regard.html
It’s a good time to explore the Granet XXe in rue Marechal Joffre. Click here to see some of the permanent collection. http://www.museegranet-aixenprovence.fr/granet-xxe/granet-xxe-la-collection-jean-planque/les-oeuvres-de-la-collection.html
The free opening just relates to the municipal museums – private ones like the Caumont are not part of the scheme.
On the other hand, lots are open in Marseille where you can visit these museums free on Sunday – MuCEM, FRAC, Musée Cantini and the Musée d’Histoire Naturelle.
