This evening (Wednesday 18 Jan), there are a couple of interesting-looking programmes on TV. The weekly documentary, ‘Des Racines et des Ailes’, is entitled ‘Passion Patrimoine: Au fil du Rhone entre Carmargue et coteaux Lyonnais’. France 3 at 20:55.
Meanwhile, TMC have devoted one of their ’90’ Enquetes’ to ‘La fache cachée de la Riviera’. Basically 11 million tourists visit the Cote d’Azur each year, with an estimated 4.5 billion euro spend. The locals, says the blurb for the programme, are rubbing their hands at the beginning of each season. But the 800 restaurants de plage have to submit to new environmental controls which could be problematic. The programme takes us behind the scenes. TMC 20:55.
Finally, just a bit of fun for the Brits – ‘Echappées belles’ on Saturday has a programme entitled ‘Un weekend so British’. It will give us the French view of London, ‘cosmopolite et excentrique’, and then tours Brighton in the company of a Prince William look-alike, as you do. France 5 20:50.
