It’s hard to believe when it is so warm and sunny but Aix’s run-up to Christmas is well under way. Here is the official programme, prog-noel-fr which has details of the usual annual celebrations plus a new initiative. As in previous years, there will be:
- International Twin Towns Market
- Fete de l’Huile d’Olive
- Marché des Treize Desserts
- Foire aux Santons
- New this year will be the 13m Christmas tree in the Place de Verdun which will be a focus of activity despite the preliminary work going on there for the ‘Trois Places’ renovation. Alongside it will be a special post box for the town’s children to send
those all-important messages to Pere Noel; and from 9-18th December, it will be the location for a ‘Made in Aix’ market for local craftspeople. The pdf above has all the information on these activities, plus the various choirs and animations that will be taking place. What a magical time for the children.
They will also enjoy the large display of santons in the glass case just down from Monoprix. This year there is a really lovely layout of the typical Provencal village and countryside. Glad to see the pizza-maker is back, in action by his glowing oven. A delight….
Christmas cakes, puddings, mince pies and tea are on their way to Aix from your twin city of Bath for the Marche International des Villes Jumelles 2016. Come and see us on the Bath stall!
We’re waiting with great anticipation!
