The annual Fete du Livre has, this year, Arundhati Roy as ‘invitée ‘honneur’. Dates and details of the programme have now been released:

A must if you are a fan of ‘The God of Small Things’ as she is just about to announce details of her second novel after 20 years.
Although it is listed on the OT website, they don’t have tickets. You have to get them via the Cité du Livre.
There is no entrance fee to go and hear Arundhati Roy at La Fête du Livre. The Office de Tourisme made a mistake. It’s free.

Hi Lynne,
I was surprised to read that La Fête du Livre is “payant” this year. I have been attending this Fête for 18 years now and it was always free, so I called the organiser, Annie Terrier. She confirmed that this occasion is open to the public and free of charge, as always, and asked me where this misinformation came from. I told her that the Office de Tourisme was the source and that they said that tickets would have to be purchased at the Cité du Livre. Annie was going to call the OT right away to correct this and I just posted a line on Aixcentric.

Thanks Anne-Marie for the clarification. So you just turn up…no tickets?
