The sprawling ‘Les Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles’, this year in its 47th edition, will for the first time overflow to Marseille, Avignon and Nimes.
The venues will be respectively the Villa Mediterranée, the Collection Lambert and the Carré d’Art.
In all, there will be 39 different expos, showcasing the work of 137 photographers. This year there will be no overall theme – more a desire to show what’s best in current photography.
The photographer who will be exhibiting in Marseille will be Austrian Alfred Seiland. His show ‘IMPERIUM ROMANUM’ is the result of his studies of, and his views on, the Roman empire which he began 10 years ago. Details: http://www.villa-mediterranee.org/fr/actualites/conference-de-presse-arles-2016
