I have read about ice-bars but never had the experience of pulling on a fleece cape and entering a -10C ice-cave complete with stalactites and ice chandeliers to enjoy a shot of freezing vodka out of an ice-glass.
If this appeals, you have the chance to do this in Aix, 21-31st May, at the Les 2 Freres restaurant, 4 ave Reine Astrid. The attraction, which has been in Marseille, is 13m square and takes 12-14 people. It’s open Thursdays-Sundays – full details here: http://www.dining-event.com/arctic/
I am writing this in England where we have no need of ice-caves, believe me, but fleece capes would be welcome.
Maybe ice-caves are an attractive prospect in sultry Provence? Do comment if you visit it!
I’m going with a group of friends on Friday! I’ll let you know just how ‘cool’ an experience it is!
Central heating on here! Do let me know how you get on
We went there with some friends last Saturday, it was a nice experience, – 15 degrees inside & + 25 degrees outside ! The place was really beautiful and very busy. Thanks a lot Lynne !
Now I am back in Provence I can see what an attraction an ice-bar is! Glad you had fun.
