A couple of months ago, I posted about the proactive attitude of the tourist office in Cassis who actually reach out to local journalists and writers with quality and timely information on forthcoming events. https://aixcentric.com/2015/01/20/coming-up-in-cassis/
Now I understand that the town has been given ‘station de tourisme’ status as decreed by the Ministere de l’Economie, de l’Industrie et du Numerique, no less. It lasts for 12 years.
This national badge of honour guarantees excellence for visitors. The town was measured on 50 criteria, including accommodation, calendar of activities, environment, transport, heritage and so on. The tourist office is now in the top category in France.
The mayor said that they had been working on this for years; it brings the town financial advantages, encourages tourists and is a positive recruiting tool for permanent and seasonal workers.
Two thumbs up to the tourist office! http://www.ot-cassis.com/en/
This sounds great that they are doing what the larger cities have resources to do and so great when we need to know what’s going on for a particular weekend in advance.
I was wondering if you’d be able to put up a Recent Posts widget on your blog, sometimes I miss posts, but it really helps when there is a recent posts box on the Home Page to see at a glance what you’ve been posting about recently and to access them quickly.
It really doesn’t take much gumption to communicate forthcoming events and I can’t understand why they don’t all do it!
The idea about recent posts is great….hadn’t thought of that. I’ll see if I can set that up.
Did it! That was easy. Good idea…thank you!
We were in Cassis on Saturday and noted that the old Mimosa car park is now a very good and unobtrusive multi storey which will help a lot – although, I would still use the park and ride during the busy summer period. J
Bon idee! I’ve added a post on parking as it can be a bit busy down there. Thanks for the nudge!
