What a wonderful subject for next year’s show at the Carrieres de Lumieres.
‘Leonardo de Vinci, Michel-Ange, Raphael: Les Géants de la Renaissance’ takes the visitor on a journey starting in Milan. It then goes to Florence where Raphael and Leonardo were painting portraits and Madonnas, then to Rome to take in Michaelangelo, and finally to Venice.
The pictures are projected massively across the rough-hewn walls inside this former quarry and are accompanied by suitable music. The show usually runs for about 40 mins but isn’t normally sequential so you can go in at any time. If you haven’t been before, it’s a wonderful experience and quite unique. It is also pretty cold in there, even in summer, so wrap up. The new show begins on 6th March.
The current programme is ‘Klimt et Vienne’ which runs until 4th January. Details here: http://www.carrieres-lumieres.com/en/home
This is my favourite place to take visitors – never ever get tired of it. Can’t wait for the new show thank you!
Yes it is stunning!
