On Thursday 20th Nov, there will be an ‘Apero Arty’ to launch an exhibition of the work of Guy Denning. He’s a self-taught British artist who lives in France and, by the look of his website, produces interesting pictures: http://www.guydenning.org/artwork/lightbox/artwork.htm
The Apero Arty is at 19:00hrs at La Galerie Maison Dauphine, 14 rue du 4 Septembre in the Quartier Mazarin. It’s a small space but the curator seems to have a habit of coming up with unusual and stimulating artists. The exhibition opens on 21st November and runs until 10th December.
In a completely different approach, Jacques Pellegrin goes for vivid colours and strong outlines. He was born in Aix in 1944 and was a German teacher and translator before becoming a full-time painter. His painting style is influenced by the Fauves and French Expressionists – but also by locals like Chabaud and Ambrogiani. His exhibition is at the Salle Pavillon upstairs in the Hotel de Ville until 29th November.
Both free!
