Some news today on the travel front.
First up, the announcement that Delta will be operating direct flights from Nice to New York from 31st March. ‘From next year, we will be delighted to welcome aboard our aircrafts the millions of American tourists who wish to visit the Cote d’Azur,’ they said. They will have a Business Elite class of 39 seats which convert to beds, plus an Economy Comfort class with more leg-room. This will be a daily service and a good addition to the twice-weekly service from Marseille starting in May (see previous post).
Nice is also the starting point for a very different journey. Someone told me last week that there was a new train service operating between the south of France and Moscow! I had to find out. Sure enough you can climb on board and step off, 50 hours later in Belorussky Station. Here’s an article by a reporter who did the journey.

And finally, not so glamorous but very necessary, Aix buses. I’ve sort of got used to the new system but apparently there are still protests from the Aixois and so another new network is going to come into operation. Here is the link: http://www.aixenbus.fr/Se-deplacer/Plans-du-reseau2 – ‘Plan du Futur Reseau’: but we still don’t know when it will start!
We are booked on one of those Delta flights in April! Can’t wait for our first trip to Provence.
You will love it!
